I run a dual boot PC with Fedora 43 and Windows 11, recently the minecraft installation on fedora got corrupted, ok I'll just reinstall on Win11 until I get Fedora sorted.
But it turns out the performance of Minecraft (java edition) on Win11 was abysmal, which prompted me to get the Fedora Minecraft installation back up and running.
Did a clean up on Fedora, reinstalled Minecraft (Java edition), copied in my Minecraft saved game folder and we were up and running, smooth as silk, The bit rot on Windows 11 is getting progressivly worse.
Hiss and rumble were a feature of my early audio systems as these were resolved other aspects of the systems came to the fore.
Boxie sound from speakers and what I call the vinyl sound of LP's dominated the short comings of Hi-Fi.
Then came the CD and now we are starting hear audio with its own character not one impressed upon it.
Speakers have been and always will be the weakest link and it is only in recent years have I come across a speaker that does not
sound "boxie" and does not advertise itself as the origin of the audio.
I have not mentioned amplifiers yet, as amplifiers were I think inproved more rapidly than anything else, their noise and distortion
levels are now so low it is of no concern at all.
Speakers distortion levels however are hundreds of times higher than what comes out of the amplifier, the cones of the drivers have a
limited range of movement, the coils get hot and their resistance rises, the closer you get to eleven on that volume control the worse it gets.
"Who are you?... What do you want?" "Why are you here?... Where are you going?"
